Marbæk Strandpark in Frederikssund is a lovely family beach with a blue flag. At the southern end of the beach you’ll find a ramp suitable for small boats, kayaks and winter swimming. There are public toilets at the car park. From Marbæk Strandpark you have a beautiful view along the fjord towards Roskilde Cathedral, the new Crown Princess Mary’s Bridge and Crown Prince Frederik’s Bridge to the north.
The beach faces west and is therefore a great destination for a sunset walk all year round.

Himmelsøen is beautifully situated in Darup, near Roskilde, surrounded by wild nature and with great views. Take a refreshing swim from the 140 metre long floating bridge or jump into the blue waves from the fine sandy beach. There is a lovely shelter and campfire site near the lake, which is free to use.
There is a path to Himmelsøen from Darupvang on Ringstedvej. Drivers can park above the lake in the car park on Darupvej.

The Bolund peninsula is a significant landmark with a narrow and shallow piece of fjord water between the island and the coast.
On both the peninsula and the beach meadow you will find exciting plants, and there are often many birds in the area. From the top of the peninsula you can enjoy a very beautiful view of Roskilde Fjord 😍
