Gundsømagle Lake and Bird Sanctuary is a great place for the whole family. The 300 metre long walkway through the reed forest offers a unique opportunity to see the birds and animals of the reed forest up close. There are benches along the way where you can rest.
The walk to the reedbed is along a footpath through an enchanting forest with twisted trees and plenty of opportunities to observe birds, frogs and plants along the way.
The footpath passes between two bird towers from where you have a wonderful view of the landscape and the lake with its exciting birdlife, including bearded tits, herons and marsh harriers. Gundsømagle is a bird sanctuary owned and managed by the Bird Protection Fund.
The Jyllingesløjfen cycle route passes by Gundsømagle and the bird sanctuary.
It is only a 40-minute drive from Copenhagen to the Bird Tower West car park.
