In the farm shop at Hegnsholt you will find organic meat and eggs from free-range, organic animals in small mobile houses. The well-known colored eggs people like to drive to Lejre from Copenhagen to get their fingers in.
Johanne and Jesper Schimming at Hegnsholt want to inspire food production and food consumption with a better future for climate, animals and people.
Therefore, at Hegnsholt in Lejre you will not find a completely ordinary organic farm. Here you can experience the animals at Hegnsholt free-ranging and outdoors all year round and the animals live in small mobile houses and are fed especially with grass and leftover products such as day-old bread, vegetable leftovers and mash.
The farm, farm shop and the field with a view of the farm animals, are open for visits as follows:
Monday – Thursday at 13.00-17.00
