Lejre Nationalparken Skjoldungernes Land

At Herthadalen, we work with the concept "People and meals", and all guests get an experience where presence and good ingredients are at the center.

Herthadalen has existed since 1788, and is a historic party place located in the middle of unique nature. Herthadalen specializes in holding parties all year round.

The restaurant is open to other guests throughout the summer as well as for holidays such as Easter, Mortens Aften and Jul. Visit Herthadalen at the end of Denmark’s longest avenue, Ledreborg Allé, which is beautifully hidden in the forest in National Park Skjoldungernes Land.

At Herthadalen, parties are held all year round, and the restaurant is also open on selected days during the year. Restaurant Herthadalen is open during summer, for the local food festival RO: KOST, during the holidays such as Easter, Morten’s evening and Christmas.

Local produce

It can be tasted when ingredients are grown by enthusiasts. Herthadalen collaborates daily with passionate people who are so passionate about doing what they do that they nerd it to the fullest because they can not help it. They all have an uncompromising approach to quality, a great respect for the raw materials they work with – and the environment they work in.

Herthamarken

At the beginning of 2019, Herthadalen took the first sod to become self-sufficient by establishing its own 100% organic vegetable field, Herthamarken. Together with a local and innovative farmer, Fredrik Sahlin, they established Herthamarken in Abbetved – only 10 minutes away from the restaurant, which is grown with Frederik & co.

Happy animals and smaller food games

Herthdalen has a principle of using “from snout to tail” on the animals – this avoids unnecessary food waste. The menu and the cut are therefore determined by which animals they have as well as which herbs and vegetables are in season.

Herthadalen wants to deliver a sustainable product with an understanding of ecology and animal welfare. Happy animals just taste better!

Hold your next event in the middle of the forest, in Herthadalen, where there are high ceilings, room for creativity and ample opportunity to use nature, you are in the middle.

Farm shop

There are a number of skilled producers in the immediate area, with whom Herthadalen collaborates. Not only in the restaurant, but also on their shelves in the farm shop.

Find i.a. the world’s best chocolate from Friis-Holm, cider from Olsen with apples from their local 75-year-old plantation and apple mead from Snoremark, which you can easily become addicted to.

The small shop accepts cash, MobilePay and Dankort.
