High quality in the choice of artists
One of the unique things about Palæfløjen is that they both arrange larger lighthouse exhibitions, but also to that extent exhibitions with local artists. The choice of artists is very wide and characterized by quality, just as there is a focus on fertilizing the ground for young talents.
Roskilde Open – Art exhibition
Every year Roskilde Art Association hosts a fantastic exhibition of art from both renowned and up-coming artists in the beautiful Yellow Mansion in the centre of Roskilde city.
Part of Kulturstrøget – cultural experiences within walking distance
Roskilde Art Association is situated in the beautiful Yellow Mansion in the Royal Palace from 1735 – which is part of “The Cultural District” – a cultural collaboration between 9 cultural institutions all located in the center of Roskilde.
The Cultural District runs parallel to Algade from Stændertorvet by Roskilde Cathedral and Byens hus, through the Yellow Mansion and Roskilde Art Association.
From here, The Cultural District goes over the cobbled square by Roskilde Museum and further along the green path that leads past the city’s creative house for children at Algade 31, Roskilde Convent and the garden by Roskilde Library. The Cultural District offers lots of cultural experiences within walking distance for both young and old.
