Roskilde Naturområde Outdoor

With its rolling hills and dramatic cultural landscape, Hedeland offers a unique nature experience.

The area boasts significant natural and cultural features, including Ice Age deposits, ancient monuments, and evidence of over 100 years of gravel excavation.

Today, Hedeland provides the setting for a wide range of outdoor activities and nature experiences for the entire family.

Here, you’ll discover huge delightful trolls, a ski and sledding hill, walking and cycling paths, riding trails, a golf course, a vintage railway, playgrounds, an amphitheater, bonfire spots, and much more.

Altogether, the area offers approximately 100 km of walking, riding, and nature trails, all freely accessible.

Play in nature

At a large playground in Hedeland, you’ll find plenty of exciting activities, including a 35-meter zipline, a pétanque court, swings for both kids and adults, a climbing forest, and a toddler play-area called the “Children’s Oasis,” which is a playground for the youngest visitors to enjoy freely.

You can also try the 1.3 km Power Fitness Track, where both your stamina and muscles are put to the test.

Enjoy a picnic at Hedeland

Pack your picnic basket and settle down at one of the designated rest areas in the park – or find your very own spot and spread out a blanket on the grass.

At the large playground, you’ll also find plenty of picnic tables and benches where you can enjoy your meal, with grills available for cooking your food.

If the weather takes a turn for the worse, there are covered rest areas throughout the park. You can also prepare your food on the provided grills or relax by one of the cozy fire pits.

Hedeland Amphitheater

Explore Hedeland Amphitheater, transformed from a gravel pit into Denmark’s largest open-air stage, with seating for over 4,000 spectators. In summer, the theater hosts opera performances, musicals, plays, and concerts, but it is otherwise open for visitors to enjoy freely.

Ski Hill

Experience Denmark’s largest ski hill in winter and its most stunning viewpoint in summer.

With a height of 50 meters and standing 80 meters above sea level, the Ski Hill is not only a fantastic vantage point over all of Hedeland Naturpark but also a landmark for the entire area.

Motorhome Spots in Hedeland

Hedeland Nature Park offers five motorhome spots in the parking area near Langesø – Vindingevej 201, 4000 Roskilde – close to a large Nature Playground. The spots have access to toilets and drinking water and are located in beautiful, natural surroundings.
